Questions and answers of the customers
- A Set it to 5.5 twice, That Was Spinal Tap. It lights up too.
- A Yes!
- A I am using it in india right now with 220v, I bought it from USA. It actually comes with chords one is us compatible and other one is for Asia. I didn’t need to purchase the transformer (converter) also. As this speaker is handling us voltage as well as 240v
- A I think us and taiwan operates at the same voltage 110v . Hence they should work
- A These speakers are made in Sweden.
- A Yes
- A Great
- A Yes, come with box and good condition.
- A 3 weeks
- A It is manufactured by a Swedish manufacturer named Zound Industries.
- A You can pair Stanmore to Stanmore. You will need a bluetooth adapter for your tv then or just use RCA jacks in the back. To me the sound is great though. I use it for music.
- A On the Marshall app on just disconnect bluetooth.
- A Just turn on Bluetooth in your Settings App. The Marshall speaker option will appear as "Not Connected". Click that and it will change to 'Connected". You don't need a cable, another App or google. The speaker will play whatever music you select on your iPad, iPod or iPhone. If you want to use Alexa more is required (I don't use Alexa).
- A Sure, I have set up my phone, tv, and laptop... and just use Alexa to disconnect and connect, depending on which one I want to play from. Or sometimes I use bluetooth settings on the device to choose which one I want to use.
- A Yes 1 year from Zound Industries, and you can add extra protection from Asurion.
- A No just a good deal. They are popular! Amazon appears sold out as today 11-22-2021.
- A You would need to have an AUX output on the receiver box for the wireless mic.
- A Alexa no, Bluetooth si
- A Potencia y que el Woburn tienes un botón adicional para seleccionar entre 7 sources. Si puedes pagar la diferencia te lo recomiendo.
- A I have not tried but I assume so.
- A This is not a guitar amplifier. You would need to have an amp before plugging your guitar into this. It is, technically, possible to plug a guitar into this, it just would not be amplified.
- A Yes.
- A It has a 2.5mm input, but I wouldn't recommend this for guitars. It's not made for that. I'd say no, but it IS technically possible with the correct setup.
- A You will have to initially set-up the speaker using Marshall Voice app to connect to wifi and set-up device on the alexa app. You can access the Marshall Voice app as a remote to switch between wifi, bluetooth, AUX or RCA mode and adjust volume and other settings. However, once you connect through bluetooth/wifi, you can choose songs directly from spotify, youtube and other applications.
- A This one doesn’t listen to you and send your data to the highest bidder.
- A There is no USB port
- A I’m not right in front of my speaker, but i think it takes both RCA and stereo mini jack as Line inputs. If your system has a regular Line output, you can connect it directly. If you are planning wireless connection, then you need some bluetooth transmitter which takes Line input. I guess the most of BT transmitters ONLY have a Line input. That’s all i can say right now. Good luck!
- A I use my iPhone and link via Bluetooth and it works perfectly. No issues.
- A Linking it to your Bluetooth you can control the volume on either the speaker or Device. My suggestion is turn the volume down on your device and the all the way up on the speaker and adjust volume on device.
- A no.It would be possible to connect to Google AI Speaker with AUX or RCA, but what's the acceptance of that? This is just a regular Bluetooth version.Alexa's built-in stuff is more expensive, and it's Amazon, and it doesn't promote Google compatible. If you choose the expensive ones that have built-in AI speakers, such as the multi-room version with Wi-Fi support, you can use it smartly.Cheap, but not cheap
- A No
- A only S.Korea. yes. 220v include.
- A Yes, you can use it as it supports 110-220 input voltage and 50/60Hz frequency
- A The Marshall speaker has a richer sound and its adjustable.
- A No. This is the model without Alexa built-in. However, you can pair it via bluetooth to an Alexa device (I use an Echo Dot), and get essentially the same functionality.
- A Piece o'crap! Save yourself a return and shop elsewhere.
- A I have only used the speaker for Bluetooth. It works great and carries sound well.
- A No, this version does not have Alexa built in.
- A No
- A Stanmore ii
- A Yes it can RCA jacks
- A Yes very easily connects with rca jacks.
- A instructions writes 100-240V
- A ONLY LINE "IN" …….NO LINE OUT
- A You'll likely NEED it, because this thing is junk. (See review posted last fall, as I was returning my failing unit to Amazon.)

If you just care about the sound, get this. It sounds awesome. I mean, how such a (relatively) small speaker can deliver this quality of sound, I have no idea. It looks great, it sounds awesome and it’s portable and easy to move around…so whats there to dislike? Well, so far, I haven’t been able to use Bluetooth with it so I have to connect to it with a cable (I know, so 20th century!). The issue is that Marshall hasn’t released PC software (so my laptop is out) and when I tried to download the app to my Android it didn’t let me because my Android wasn’t the latest generation. Very annoying. So, i guess I have to buy a new new phone so I can use Bluetooth in my new expensive speaker. Not an ideal solution. But it’s difficult to be pissed about it because the darn heavy little box sounds sop darn good! So, if you have the newest Android or you don’t mind to use a cable to connect, get this speaker. You won’t find a better sound for the price.
Update 4/26/19 (now it’s 5 stars)
I haven’t had any power issues as reported by other reviewers. I use it almost every day and the sound is as good as it was the first time. I originally gave this speaker 4 stars because of the issues I had with the wireless connection but honestly….who cares? With a speaker that sounds this good and looks so stylish it deserves 5 stars. I have other means to listen to music and I always go back to this little guy. That’s the best recommendation I can give.
Update 7/18/19
As I type this I’m listening O Fortuna from Carmina Burana blaring from this speaker and I don’t get how be it can be labeled as mediocre sounding. Of course it’s not stereo sound…it’s not supposed to be. That’s like asking a Prius to accelerate like a Ferrari and then complain it’s too slow. For a stand alone small speaker, this is outstanding as long as you don’t expect something that it’s not. Is it expensive? Yes it is but, as usual, you get what you pay for and in this case, its quality, reliability and a great sound in a small package. Highly recommended as long as you know what you are buying.

Good sound, great appearance for the buck, BUT my unit is on the way back to Amazon, one day after delivery. After playing at various volume levels for the first two hours, the power shut off. I tried repeatedly for a restart, with no luck. It took almost as long to navigate Marshall’s unnecessarily cumbersome registration-activation procedures. Rather than risk a repeat (non)performance, I ordered a pair of Bluetooth Klich — for twice the price, alas — upon receiving Amazon’s return authorization.

Sounds good.. but goes into standby after 20min with no way to diasable it. Bluetooth and App are also not friendly. So much potential wasted

The Stanmore II is in some ways an impressive piece of audio equipment. Pleasing retro design. Solidly built. Relatively easy to setup (though having to use the Marshall app to connect is a minor annoyance). Reliable performance once set up.
The problem with the Stanmore II is the problem with all standalone Bluetooth speakers: sound quality is, at best, mediocre.
Don’t kid yourself. This is no substitute for actual stereo. You will get *much* better audio from hooking up a Bluetooth adapter like the BluDento — at less than a 1/3 of the price of the Stanmore — to an existing stereo receiver or integrated amp. I frankly wish I had done that before blowing $$ on the Stanmore.
The Stanmore II is ultimately overpriced for what it delivers. If you’re happy streaming mp3 quality audio over Spotify, then the Stanmore is probably adequate. If you’re hoping to get Hi-Res audio via Tidal or Qobuz, do not bother. Note as well that the Stanmore doesn’t come with AptX HD, which is disappointing for a 2019 product.
tim ratcliff (verified owner) –
After downloading the Marshall Bluetooth app I am now able to adjust the tone controls using the five band equalizer – this has completely changed my opinion of the Stanmore, I now love it and would amend my review to 5 stars !!
Dustin Wood (verified owner) –
I will echo what many have said, these sound pretty mediocre. I wasn’t blown away by them. I’ve had better, cheaper, more room filling sounding speakers than this. But, was a Prime Day deal, and love the looks of them.
One disappointing thing, since these don’t have a battery and have to be plugged in, I expected louder sound output. When setting up, which you’re required to download the app, which you can then delete after setting up, I tested a song on them. The speaker was about 15 feet away and I couldn’t hear anything, despite it saying that it was 50% volume. After turning up, it seems like about 80% volume is a good volume to listen to, but that doesn’t leave more space if you want them louder. It just felt like most of the sound was controlled from 60% to 100%. 59% and down, was very minimal in loudness and could barely be heard.
And about the app. It’s unnecessary. They only require it to harvest your info. Sign up for newsletters, and let them watch your usage. If you try to pair your phone to it the way you can with all the other bluetooth speakers, it will reject pairing. So just pair, set your settings, then delete it off your phone.

Classic retro styling and great sound (the bass is great!) in a space-saving form that fits perfectly on my bookshelf. Love it!
Combat Dork (verified owner) –
The sound quality is really great. It supplies a suprising amount of bass and volume.
Easy to set up, easy to connect, easy to move.
Mary Baralt (verified owner) –
Sound is excellent! it took me only a few minutes to figure out how to pair the device with my phone. the quality of the sound is excellent. I love the vintage look of this speaker.
EmmaChen (verified owner) –
The sound is amazing .
Really love it . The blue teeth function is fine. Easy to connected , just need to download the Marshall app first . There is only one thing a bit inconvenient to me .
I have to plug on the outlet during the time playing the music.
So you can only bring it to the place with the plug socket. But it’s not positioning as a portable speaker after all.
Anyway, really like it.
Will wait and see the performance in the future and decide whether should get another white one!
Thomas Zimmerman (verified owner) –
Bought this on Amazon Monday for great $199 great speaker for that price. What is not mentioned in product description
is that with the Marshall app two speakers can coupled together. This gives a speaker for left and right channels true stereo. Had I known that I would have bought two at $199 ended up giving $260 for second. Have them in my man cave
now real stereo great sound.
Ness (verified owner) –
Bigger than I thought it would be, I dont know why I figured it’d be smaller, but overall the product is good, the sound quality is amazing I watched reviews on YouTube before buying and decided this was the best for price range and stylishness, I like the modern vintage design, I did give it a 4 because it recently started having this issue where it disconnects when I visit an app such as snapchat and then return to my YouTube video and find that the audio is gone, it just takes a quick disconnect and connect for it to all be well again, it’s not a big deal, but it definitely isn’t ideal either. If you want a good looking speaker with great sound I definitely would recommend this.

I got a good price for this speaker and for what I paid, it was a good deal. These are not concert speakers, know that. They are high quality speakers for your home that offer distortion free music rich in sound. If you want your skin to crawl in volume, get their speaker that will have you tweeking out, but it’s more expensive. Marshall is top of the line, ask all the bands that use their speakers.
2112 (verified owner) –
Very pricey but I got it on a lightning deal so it was very worth it. Sounds awesome as you’d expect from Marshall. I’ve never heard a Bluetooth speaker that played this loud and clear. Great bass. Great high end. Sounds fantastic. It’s fairly large but not too big. It looks awesome! Very vintage Marshall. I just wish this model was also battery powered like the Kilburn. I’d take it with me everywhere regardless of the size! It’s the perfect stay at home model though. The Kilburn is the one you want to be mobile with and it’s also incredible!

Not worth the money even during discount. This stereo is made in China. Marshall do make stereos in other countries that are much better though.

The speaker will not connect to Alexa. I wasted a couple of hours after I got it. Now, will send it back. Too bad. I do like the old fashioned looks.
The audio is good but not special. Better than Amazon’s but for the price I can add a cheap Alexa receiver to a very good set of monitors and get better stereo sound.

I really like the look of this speaker and the sound quality is great. I do find that playing things through my phone/the app isn’t that user friendly, and we typically don’t have trouble with those kind of things.
Mark Twain (verified owner) –
A decent sounding speaker but a total disappointment. It must be plugged in to use. It is not portable like most speakers in this price range. The bluetooth connectivity is absolutely terrible. Will not connect with an android phone. Even after downloading the marshall app, which is completely uninformative and basically just spyware, it doesnt work. The only way to listen is via aux connection. Not at all what I wanted. I have conected to hundreds of bluetooth speakers and cars etc without issue. This is the first speaker I have ever come accross that wont connect. Disappointing.

I am so pleased with this portable speaker because I like everything about it, looks, quality, price and performance. It is in my kitchen since I already have sounds in my music room so I don’t think this should go in there. I put it in the garage once and it was a pleasure to have loud sounds while working in there. Highly recommended!

Handsome, a great size, and very good sound, but it has no remote. So every time you want to change a song or the volume, you will need to go to, and wake up, your phone, laptop, or whatever, to get to the controls. A remote saves me a lot of time and frustration, so I bought a Como Musica instead.
Freddy4130 (verified owner) –
Bought this speaker for my father-in-law. He absolutely loves it. He had heard it playing in a retail store and asked about it, did about three months of research and couldn’t stop talking about it. So we got it for him for Christmas. He loves it!

We did not receive all of the necessary cords. We did not receive the RCA cords that came with our first speaker that we had to return. Cannot play record player. How do we get these sent to us. The second speaker cost us almost $100 more than first we had to send back because it didn’t power on, and now this $100 more one from you doesn’t have the required cords.
Amazon Customer (verified owner) –
I have been using it for leass than 3 months.
Mine is terrible. Sound was great until last week. It currently has really bad connection with my phone. I checked internet and my phone’s condition but its playing is continually stopped.
Also, its bluetooth is horrible. It only connects with my cell phone. It cannot catch any other devices signal. I don’t know what was wrong with my device.
I will wait the answer from you guys and ask for exchange for the new one.

Unboxed this item, plugged it in, and it wouldn’t even turn on. Such a disappointment especially after a month and a half of waiting for the item to be shipped and delivered finally. Returned it the same day. Complete waste of time.

This speaker is both aesthetically pleasing and a great sound system. The ability to adjust the bass, treble and volume is extremely handy when listening to any song. The only down side to this speaker is the inability to connect via normal Bluetooth. This particular brand asks you to download an app that requires you to have the app open in the background in order to use the speaker. Not the most convenient thing

The overall sound compared to my original Stanmore is much to be desired. I hooked these up (2) as L/R pair, using one RCA input each. I hooked up a sub woofer too. I cannot believe how low the sound is on full volume. I put these in a big room, just like my (2) original Stanmore speakers. The first pair really rocked at high volume. The sound in the Stanmore II is nothing special. I play guitar and the look of these is so nostalgic, so is the sound. Sounds low like a wimpy ’70’s radio. I tried to connect them every other way I could, Bluetooth (coupled and separately) , each individually with stereo RCA, same. One of my original Stanmore’s blew, so I bought 2 new ones. Should have read the reviews first. Look elsewhere.

I have owned medium end equipment. Thousand dollar receivers, $2500 speakers. With that said I am very pleased with this speaker. I’m moving a couple times with in a year. Not wanting to set my equipment up while staying at my daughter’s for a few months, this speaker does the trick. I’m taking it to Portugal when I move next year. Giving my equipment to my son. This speaker fills large living rooms easily 20 x 30.
No its not audiophile quality by very good at a great price!

Bought this initially through amazon warehouse. Item that came was obviously not the item described at purchase–in addition to it being swapped out to a european model(based on electrical plug, what is the return center doing?) Spoke to a rep for a return, no one told me it was going to have a restocking fee, despite the issue being not as described.
S L G (verified owner) –
Have been impressed with the sound quality, for what it is. The retro look of it is cool too. It’s just such a shame that the Bluetooth connectivity sucks so hard. So many times it just won’t connect at all, despite being in the same room. Having to constantly turn it off and on again just so it will connect via Bluetooth gets pretty tedious after a while.
foo bar (verified owner) –
I have these plugged in via an aux cable because when I hit play on my computer I want to hear sound. Don’t think that’s too much to ask. Well these shut off after 20-30 minutes of inactivity which means every time when I start listening in the morning these are off.
I now have to get over to the speakers kick the power switch every time, they won’t just stay on or turn on when the power source is turned on (I have a remote-controlled power switch they’re hooked up to). Nope, you have to walk up and hit the switch…every day…
Annoying, I want speakers that just play when they receive audio, without that problem they speakers would be great.
Patrick J. Hill (verified owner) –
I Just bought my second Stanmore II speaker. The sound quality of these speakers is just incredible! They are extremely solid, sturdy and have some weight to them. And frankly, they look extremely cool sitting on the desk/table I have them on. I bought my first on when it was on sale earlier this year, and it was a great deal. I paid full price for the second one, because I wanted to pair them up. One of these speakers fills the room with rich sound. Two of them running in tandem as left and right channels is mind blowing! It’s well worth every penny! I’m very happy I pulled the trigger on speaker number two!
Kindle Customer (verified owner) –
To use this you have to download the app and jump through some hoops. I got it to work on my phone but still haven’t been able to get my iPad to sync with it. I’ll keep trying but it shouldn’t be this difficult.
Otherwise audio quality is good and it looks cool
Techore (verified owner) –
Great speaker on sale. I bought the Woburn II as well. Out of the two, I prefer the Stanmore II sound signature and it is plenty loud for medium size rooms. I use mine in a dinning and kitchen combo room. Outside of it being pricey, my only major complaint is the required use of the phone app to connect. It should not require an app and should permit the a supported bluetooth version from any device.
Eagleclaww (verified owner) –
It’s very nice. I played a sleep podcast of lapping waves, it sounded like I was next to water.
Overall, I would describe the sound as warm or warmth.
Considering many people are buying this for background music in a smaller room, the warmer sound seems more likable for that.
In any event, you can hear the quality of the sound and the speaker itself is of a very good build quality.

the only thing bad about this speaker is the app the app does not do anything and it wasted 30 mins of my time because of the app. but when i got the speaker the connect it sounded amazing the best Bluetooth speaker i have had worth the money.

Currently I have 2 of this speaker pair together and using it as stereo setup. The sound is great and like how it is quickly pair once you turn it on. However, it may take few try and error during the setup.

i LOVE mine!!
i purchased the speaker for its aesthetic and have been so happy – it was a great investment, as i use it every day and want it as an accent piece in my home.
i know nothing about speakers/music quality etc so i can’t speak to that aspect, but it’s user friendly + sounds good.
fyi it does have a cord, so it’s only as portable as your electrical outlets.

I didn’t expect high fidelity from a one-box tabletop speaker that I’m connecting to my phone. It’s easy to connect. It does tend to jump between devices if we’re all streaming. Takes a sec to get sorted but then it’s usually OK.

It’s pretty heavy so it’s not real portable. It’s loud but I thought it’d be louder. We have it a little above half when we are right next to it. I was think it’d be on like the 2nd or 3rd notch. It sounds really good and if it wasn’t a gift we wouldn’t spend this much money on something like this. It’s a little too pricey I think. There are great speakers out there for half this price. Although we liked the style and size.

ok. it’s really good design.
but.. only have design.
sound quality… u don’t expect too much sound quality.
if you increase the volume, you can be satisfied.

I have always been a Marshalls fan. This one did not dissappoint. I bought it as a gift for the wife. She loves it. it has a great sound quality and so easy to use. it is multivolt so you can bring anywhere around the world. finishing is really nice and fits well in our wood furniture in our living room. Can fill the room with clear music. Best of all I got it on sale. Can’t go wrong, it is a Marshall.

Have had several bluetooth players before, and always found myself not caring whether it is on or not. The Marshall changes that. I’m playing my shovel guitar again, singing badly into my hammer microphone again.

I liked this little speaker and it was working fine for a year Unfortunately at one year and 2 months it stopped turning on it just died. I contacted their customer support and was told that the warranty is for one year and after that I am on my own. They dont provide any support at all. Disappointing indeed. I will have to buy a new speaker but it definitely will not be from Marshall.

Came in the mail today and right out if the box the bluetooth was defective. Would not stay connected to phone (tried two) or computer. I tried it through the aux. cable and it would work through my phone but not my Mac Pro desktop…and it’s the speaker. I checked my jacks and plugged them back and forth from my computer to my old speakers and everything is fine. Plug it into the Marshall and nothing. Pull the plug from my computer and plug it into my phone and the Marshall works (and I went through the audio out options and speaker selections on the Mac Pro, nothing from the Marshall. I think the circuits are just a mess. I expected higher quality and better product testing than this. It should have never left the factory if proper quality control was in place. I’m sending it back and ordered a Klipsch The Three with an Aiyima Tube T7 preamp (2021 upgrade) along with some GE tubes. That will add bass and treble control to the Klipsch and hopefully sound pretty good also.

The sound quality was good but I noticed the price has come down considerably. I feel I should be returned the extra money I paid for it. It is “highway “ robbery.

Looks amazing, sounds amazing, it’s been called by many “a total vibe” I am the coolest person I know because I own this. There is a major glitch that the speaker will connect to multiple phones at once with one playing the music and another controlling the volume. With multiple roommates if one person is playing music and another person plays a video on their phone in another room, no sound comes from their phone so they try to turn their volume up and the volume of the speaker goes to max with the original music that was playing from another phone. It has also connected to a roommates phone who was asleep, playing the same song repeatedly and would not disconnect from that phone despite multiple phones trying to pair to stop the other phone from playing. The only way to fix this is to forget the speaker on the phone anytime it’s not being used. Very annoying, morale of the story is maybe get the speaker and live by yourself.

Prior to buying this speaker, I had listened to a variety of Bluetooth/Wifi enabled speakers, but this one blows all of them away – it’s not close. Two major aspects of exceptional performance – bass response & use of power. In smaller speakers like this one the bass response is just not there. You can tell from the weight of this little beauty that the bass might be very much to your liking… it sure is for me. I have used it in an outdoor setting where we needed some volume to get adequate coverage in the listening area… and I simply turned it up until we had what we wanted. Precise sound reproduction across the frequency range. I have a Marshall studio guitar amp, and this speaker performs similar to that unit… which I love. If you get this one, be ready for some very pleasant surprises as you use it to listen to your favorite music.

I’ve read a few of the reviews saying the sound quality on this was average or mediocre, or even bad. Not true!! This little box rocks!! Superior sound quality, amazing bass and treble, and LOUD a.s. I got it a year and a half ago for $200, and I use it all the time.
The only issue you’ll have is once two or more phones have it in their Bluetooth menu, it tries to connect to both. You’ll have to either delete the speaker or turn off Bluetooth on one device.
But back to the sound!!! Awesome!! Highly recommend this for a room in your house. You want proof? Put Eruption on and turn it up. Damn.

Awesome sound! Really great and easy to use. The Marshall software is a bit clunky, and Bluetooth connections get confused when using from an iPhone, with the Marshall software. Only took a minute to figure it out. 4 stars because the Bluetooth gets “confused” when multiple devices are connected (I use both phone and tablet). I have to manually disconnect one, if I want to use the other.

It worked so awesome!!! BUT THEN!!!_____ you’d connect it play it then out of nowhere the volume would go full blast. I was told Amazon wouldn’t exchange it cause they where out and wouldn’t upgrade to the Alexa one. So I had to return it sadly. I mean it sounds amazing was just a turd..

This is in the Amazon department for portable bluetooth speakers, has a rating for battery life, and claims it contains a lithium ion battery.
Low and behold it needs to be plugged in, and has no battery. The sound quality is average for a speaker of this size that has to be plugged in. WAY overpriced

I was at a friends house over the weekend and could not get over the sound quality of this unit! I love Marshall guitar amps as a guitarist and was equally blown away with this little powder keg. I immediately ordered one while still at my friends house and it was shipped within hours.
If you are looking for a huge wall of sound in an attractive package, you will it be disappointed in this.
5.0 out of 5 stars
Just WOW!!!

Love this speaker just has an issue connection to my laptop saying it has an issue with the battery being dead and needing to be replaced so for some reason it won’t connect but just stick my handy old aux from the closet and away we go. Just would like to be able to connect with it sadly but it’s amazing.

This speaker is awesome and the sound fills the big room. Specially the bass is mind blowing feels like you are sitting in a theater.
I love it…
It works on 110 volts as wells as 220V. I played it on both voltages
Thanks
